American musical drama action-adventure film Mufasa: The Lion King is being shown in over 30 cinemas in Sri Lanka.

Directed by Barry Jenkins from a screenplay written by Jeff Nathanson, the film is produced by Walt Disney Pictures. The film is photorealistically animated, and both a prequel and sequel to the 2019 remake of the 1994 film The Lion King.
Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, Donald Glover, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and John Kani reprise their roles from the remake; new cast members include Aaron Pierre, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Tiffany Boone, Mads Mikkelsen, Thandiwe Newton, Lennie James, Anika Noni Rose, and Blue Ivy Carter in her feature film debut.
Lost and alone, orphaned cub Mufasa meets a sympathetic lion named Taka, the heir to a royal bloodline. The chance meeting sets in motion an expansive journey of an extraordinary group of misfits searching for their destinies.
