Courtyard by Marriott Colombo, an esteemed member of the Marriott Bonvoy hotel portfolio, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Colombo and Turkish Airlines, has announced the forthcoming Türkiye Food Festival.
The 10-day event is dedicated to showcasing the rich and diverse cuisine of Türkiye. This culinary extravaganza will feature Guest Chefs Volkan Gür and Eren Barishan from JW Marriott Hotel Istanbul Marmara Sea, offering an authentic taste of Turkish gastronomy.
Taking place from 15 to 23 September, the Türkiye Food Festival will be a unique opportunity for connoisseurs and food enthusiasts to indulge in a variety of traditional Turkish dishes. Chef Volkan Gür and Chef Eren Barishan will present an extensive buffet and dynamic action stations, highlighting the intricate flavours of Turkish kebabs, mezes, and other signature delights, providing a genuine insight into the captivating tapestry of Turkish culinary heritage.
The festival will be hosted at the enchanting Beira Kitchen within Courtyard by Marriott Colombo, with the dinner buffet available from 15 to 23 September between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m.
Attendees can look forward to an elevated dining experience, enhanced by traditional Turkish entertainment and live-action stations. Moreover, on 17 September, a Turkish Tea Party will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., offering a unique perspective on Turkish cuisine. For those seeking a deeper understanding, the Chef’s Table, led by Chef Volkan Gür, will take place on 18 and 19 September, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Throughout the 10-day event, the hotel will be transformed into a Turkish culinary haven, featuring traditional dishes curated by Chef Volkan Gür from JW Marriott Hotel Istanbul Marmara Sea. Guests can savour mouthwatering kebabs, fragrant rice pilafs, flaky pastries, and more, all while immersing themselves in the cultural significance of these flavours. “We are excited to bring the essence of Türkiye to Colombo through its cuisine.
