Signal’s role in Sri Lanka

Identifying that 20% of the households do not use fluoridated toothpaste, Signal, in its stride to introduce the concept of brushing twice daily with fluoridated toothpaste, initiated the 21 day night brushing challenge.

Having introduced the concept in 2009, by 2011 40% of the population had taken up the habit of night time brushing, a 10% increase from the 30% in 2009.

Similarly, the Live Learn Laugh project (LLL) was launched with the SLDA in the north western province with the simple objective of inculcating the habit of brushing twice daily using fluoride toothpaste in children. Currently being on phase two of the project, by the end of May 2013, it hopes to reach 50 schools and by the end of the year it aims to introduce the concept to 50 additional schools.
