The American Chamber of Commerce in Sri Lanka (AmCham) will be hosting the annual Ambassador’s Ball for the 15th year on 8 June 2013, at the Grand Ball Room, Hilton Colombo. HSBC has come forward for the seventh consecutive year as the principal sponsor and Dialog Axiata for the second year as their communication partner.

The AmCham’s Ambassador’s Ball is a considered one of the most significant events in Colombo’s social diary that attracts the crème de la crème of the society.

The event is a black tie affair with a five course sit down dinner that offers the best of everything and a host of prizes and surprises. The US Ambassador Michele J. Sison will be the Chief Guest at this occasion and this will be her first Ambassador’s Ball since her accreditation to Sri Lanka.

As in previous years, part proceeds of the Ambassador’s Ball will be donated to charity of the Ambassador’s Choice. This year has Ambassador Sison nominated, Emerge Lanka Foundation, as the recipient of the donation.

Each year the theme for this grand extravaganza is based on a popular place or event in USA. This year the ball committee has decided on ‘New York New York’ with emphasis on Broadway.

Great care is being taken to create the correct atmosphere to match the theme from the décor to the food and of course the entertainment.

The event escalates every year in all aspects giving the participants, mainly AmCham members and their guests, a night to be cherished.  This year ‘Misty’ will provide music for dancing, along with a popular DJ and the event will have its usual pomp and pageantry with the ‘Presentation of colours’ by the US Marine Corps and other spectacular attractions.

The night will offer fun, laughter and entertainment with airline tickets and gifts to walk away with.

At the time of going to press there are only a handful of tables available. For more information contact the AmCham Secretariat on 0112 336 073/4 or email [email protected].
