7° North at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo brings a splash of two cuisines this February with the introduction of a signature dish each from India and Morocco. For a limited time only, the hotel adds Moroccan couscous and jinga Lahori masala with basmati rice to its outdoor dining menu. Although the dishes are adopted from two different cuisines, the diversity of both cultures is evident in the rich and varied flavours in these dishes.

Known for been a staple food in Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia and Libya and a favourite in France, the Moroccan couscous is traditionally served with a meat or vegetable stew spooned over it. It is an opportunity to experience the flavours of a traditional Moroccan feast, with a helping of meat and vegetable laid out on a bed of couscous.

This is a hearty Moroccan meal that oozes richness and flavour. Fans of Moroccan food who are not sure where to start when it comes to Moroccan flavours should explore the 7° North’s offering. This dish is available in the month of February from 6 p.m. onwards at Rs. 800++++.

The jinga Lahori masala is a dish that has a blend of aromatic spices in a prawn masala curry with a helping of basmati rice. It is a perfect afternoon dish for all those fans of Indian cuisine. The influence of spice and flavour results in a unique, interesting and flavourful blend of the differences in the culture.  This is a chance to taste true Indian flavours. The dish may be requested from 12 p.m. – 3 p.m. and is priced at Rs. 800 ++++. Both dishes boast an abundance of flavours with a variety of ingredients that represent the authenticity of both countries.

This month’s dishes are a foodie’s delight. These Moroccan and Indian dishes complement a relaxing evening on the deck of 7° North, the perfect location for an evening chat by the lake. The restaurant and bar is available for inquiries on 2491948.
