The Saskia Fernando Gallery announces the presentation of two parallel events this September, with the opening of a group exhibition featuring the 2024 A4A (Artists for Artists) Production Fund grantees – Dumiduni Illangasinghe, Mayun Kaluthanthri, and Malinda Jayasinghe.
Alongside this exhibition, the Udayshanth and Angelika Fernando Foundation, in partnership with the Indira Cancer Trust, will launch the third edition of its annual fundraiser.
The A4A exhibition opens on 12 September and will run until 3 October at the Saskia Fernando Gallery, 41 Horton Place, Colombo 7. The works from the fundraiser will be on display from 12 September, and will be auctioned online via AirAuctioneer from 12-14 September.
The Udayshanth and Angelika Fernando Foundation Fundraiser aims to raise funds for the next edition of the A4A Production Grant and other initiatives that support young artists and designers in furthering their practice. Additionally, the project will support ongoing work towards building cancer awareness and support the work of Suwa Arana. The fundraiser will feature over 50 leading contemporary artists from Sri Lanka, each generously contributing their work to support this cause.
The initiative has been generously supported by artists since the inception of the project in 2021. For this year’s edition of the fundraiser, artists were requested to interpret a small canvas, similar to an A4-sized paper.
