The Sri Lanka Consulate General in Karachi with the assistance of SriLankan Airlines facilitated the performance of ‘Ken B Eniwan’s Story’ by the Sri Lanka’s Stages Theatre Group at the Pakistan International Theatre Festival in Karachi.
The performance was organised by the Arts Council of Pakistan as part of the activities to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, showcasing the cultural ties between the two countries.
The play depicted human life at various stages and received an overwhelming response from the audience during the two performances on 21 and 22 September.
The Consul General of Sri Lanka Jagath Abeywarna, Arts Council of Pakistan in Karachi President Mohammad Ahmed Shah, Stages Theatre Group Director Ruwanthie De Chickera, Karachi-based consul generals, SriLankan Airlines Country Manager Saman Rathnayake, the president and representatives from the English-Speaking Union in Pakistan, were in the audience.
The success of Ken B Eniwan’s Story not only marks a positive step for Sri Lanka’s theatre scene but also strengthens cultural ties and fosters goodwill between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
