The November edition of the Ceylon Flea Market will take place today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Ceylon Flea Market offers the perfect opportunity to declutter and start fresh for 2025. This is the ideal time to sort through your belongings and find new homes for your pre-loved and unused items. Whether it’s kitchen gadgets, toys, shoes, books, tools, clothes, children’s items, or linens, giving these items a second life not only helps others but also gives your home a clean and clutter-free start to the new year. Entrance to the Ceylon Flea Market is from the Sathutu Uyana, the Children’s play area.
Taking place on the third week of every month, the Ceylon Flea Market offers a delightful shopping experience where visitors can uncover hidden gems like, Stylish tote bags, exquisite jewellery, captivating perfumes (La Perfumerie), henna, bobbin lace (Beeralu Lace by Beautin, master artisan of the year), a variety of kids’ books, pre-loved clothes, and practical household items.
The market is a testament to creativity and resourcefulness, providing a platform for vendors to showcase their handmade, upcycled, vintage, and pre-loved items.
It’s also a meeting point for family and community connections. Visitors and vendors alike can enjoy the vibrant atmosphere, where sharing stories and supporting one another are as important as the items being sold. Mothers can browse freely without worrying about their little ones, as the Viharamahadevi Park provides plenty of entertainment for kids, including pony rides, mini train rides, boat rides, slides, and a dedicated children’s playground. Adding to the festive vibe, live music by Morris from the Solomon Islands and retro music by DJ Johnny C will keep the energy buzzing, with a special stage where kids can join in and dance, making it a fun-filled experience for the whole family.
