Shari Jayawardhana, a student of Saumya Jayasekera, in collaboration with twenty child artists with special needs will hold an exhibition today and tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 5p.m. at the Gallery FourLife, No. 26, Boteju Road, Colombo 5. that conveys a sense of great joy to the viewers.

The purpose behind this exhibition is to raise awareness about the unique abilities of Sri Lankan child artists with disabilities. The artworks demonstrate the resilience of the child artists, and their journey in dealing with their struggles and overcoming their limitations.

Part sale proceeds of Shari’s paintings and all sale proceeds from the children’s work will support the education and career prospects of hearing-impaired school children at the School for the Deaf, Ratmalana and Nuffield School for the Deaf & Blind, Jaffna.

“Art plays a vital role in creating social change. It helps us to pause, reflect and rekindle our hope for a better future” noted Shari.  “EUPHORIA is your invitation into our world. As you allow yourself to feel what we feel and experience what we experienced, you will be forever changed. Let it impact your heart and create a better tomorrow” stated the child artists with disabilities.

It is hoped that this novel art exhibition will create a wider awareness and appreciation of the unique abilities of hearing- impaired child artists.
