The Glorious Performing Arts Committee (GPAC) will stage a timely and heartwarming theatre production, “Seasons of Love” on 16 and 17 November, at the Lionel Wendt Theatre Colombo.

The original play written by Irandi Gunaratne, will feature a host of amateur performers and will be produced by Sanjeev Jayaweera. Joining Sanjeev in directing the performance will be Irandi Gunaratne and Shewan Jayaweera. Music and vocals for the play have been arranged by Naphtali Mendis and Irandi Gunaratne, while choreography is handled by Shenali Jayaweera.

Seasons of Love, follows a family of five members as they navigate a particularly difficult season in each of their lives. Each family member exposing and displaying their own strengths and weaknesses, but with unwavering care and undeniable warmth, entrenched in strong belief, they choose to stand firm and grounded in love for one another through every trial as a tree rooted and sunk deep to the earth.

This will be GPAC’s second production with their debut production “The Miracle” being a resounding success. The performance deeply resonated with the audience and turned out to be an unforgettable experience for all. Timed perfectly for the holiday season, the production portrayed not merely how Mother Mary birthed Jesus amidst a near death experience and unbearable challenges and yet chose to faithfully honour God’s word but also incorporated a true story of a young Mother in the present age who faced a painful and strenuous period of time during childbirth who indisputably through God’s grace, gave birth to a healthy baby boy.
