Japanese animation movie ‘Sword Art Online’ in Lankan cinemas

Japanese popular animation movie ‘Sword Art Online’ is being screened in four Lankan cinemas. 

They are Liberty by Scope Cinemas, Colombo City Centre, KCC Kandy and PVR Colombo 2.

It is the fourth Japanese animation title that is being screened in Sri Lanka reflecting growing popularity. 

The movie is based on a Japanese light novel series written by Reki Kawahara and illustrated by abec. The series takes place in the near future and focuses on protagonists Kazuto “Kirito” Kirigaya and Asuna Yuuki as they play through various virtual reality MMORPG worlds.

A video game whiz helps create a new technology that enables players to guide their online avatars with their own bodies – but a dark twist emerges.
