The Pakistan High Commission in Colombo, in collaboration with Courtyard Marriott, SriLankan Airlines, and Marriott Islamabad, has organised a Pakistani Food Festival from 3-13 October.
The inaugural ceremony of the festival was held on Thursday attended by a large number of people including diplomats, Government officials, businessmen, and media representatives.
Pakistan High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Maj. Gen (R) Faheem Ul Aziz was Chief Guest of the event.
In his remarks, the High Commissioner stated that the food festival is a testament to the strong and enduring ties between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The two nations share a bond rooted in history, mutual respect, and close collaboration across a wide spectrum of areas – be it trade, education, culture, or diplomacy. The High Commissioner added that the Pakistan food festival is a unique opportunity to experience the essence of Pakistan through one of its most cherished expressions – food.
The audience enjoyed the food as well as the live music performance by a Pakistani troupe. Members of the music band and two Pakistani Chefs are on a visit to Sri Lanka exclusively for the Pakistani food festival.
