The Park Street Mews annual ‘Mews Light Up’ ushered in the festive season on Thursday, with a little bit of sparkle and an abundance of gratitude to celebrate the end of a trying year and to welcome a more hopeful one.

Breaking from its yearly tradition of a gleaming street light up, the Park Street Mews and its eight resident restaurants joined together to bring a little sparkle and a lot of gratitude.

Speaking about this year’s inspiration, Park Street Mews Developer Tasneem Moosajee said: “Gratefulness overshadows the sparkle this year, as we have come to understand more deeply the value of love and the joy of companionship. The uncertainty of tomorrow has stifled our spirit during the time spent at home, isolated from society. We endured the loss of life, loss of touch, and to an extent, the loss of hope. So this Christmas, we want to bring back hope, laughter and joy in the spirit of Christmas.”

Street partners Monsoon, Chambers, Kuuraku, Park Street Trattoria, Café Français by Pourcel, the Mews Restaurant, Curve Bar, and Butter Boutique will be hosting a curated series of gastronomical offerings this season.

Less sparkle does not equate to less inspiration because this year’s Christmas tree is a geometric installation of fiberglass and batik. The eight-panelled, 14-foot creation revolves around batik, an industry that supports local artisans and their livelihoods across the island.

Park Street Mews is adhering to Government guidelines and taking necessary precautions to ensure a safe environment for all. Be spoilt for choice with the indoor and outdoor seating arrangements as Colombo’s evergreen street celebrates the most wonderful time of the year.
