The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Muscat participated in the Diplomatic Charity Bazaar 2023 organised by the Omani Foreign Ministry recently.
The event, which was held at the Diplomatic Club saw the participation of diplomatic missions, charity organisations and small-scale establishments in the Sultanate of Oman.
The event was inaugurated by Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs Khalid bin Hashil bin Mohammed Al Muslahi. The proceeds of the Bazaar would support charity and humanitarian activities across the Sultanate of Oman. The charity bazaar featured more than 50 stalls, representing diplomatic missions and other organisations based in the Sultanate, showcasing a wide array of products.
A captivating Sri Lankan traditional dance was performed at the inauguration ceremony by the students of the Sri Lankan School in Muscat. Attending the event’s opening ceremony, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Sultanate of Oman A.L. Sabarullah Khan opened the Sri Lankan stall. Covering different dimensions of Sri Lankan trade and tourism, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Muscat showcased Ceylon tea, spices, handicrafts, fashions and Sri Lankan traditional cuisine. The Sri Lankan business community in the Sultanate, Bread Box, Lankan Grocery and Curry Pot promoted Sri Lankan spices and food products while Akbar Tea and Al Falaj Hotel in Muscat provided Ceylon tea.
