Women Plus Bazaar is a platform that targets entrepreneurs and crafters from the various 25 districts of Sri Lanka and with the prevailing economic crisis in the country, our main intention is to help the participants to have better access to the market and sell their products.
The Bazaar is organised by the Embassy of Egypt, in cooperation with the Ministry of Women Empowerment, the Mayor’s Office, the National Crafts Council and Shangri-La Hotel. It is to be held on 30 April 2023 from 10.00 a.m. to 16.00 p.m. at Shangri-La Colombo (Shangri-La Ballroom).
The event will bring together and empower more than 250 crafters from around Sri Lanka, and its various provinces and districts together with low-income entrepreneurs and businesses, persons with special abilities, and the elderly of the Sri Lankan community, with a focus on women in all these categories.
The whole organisation of this Women Plus Bazaar is entirely voluntary and complementary at no fees. Hence, 100% of the profits go to the participants themselves.
A Raffle Draw will take place at the end of the event, with gifts, vouchers and exciting prizes to be won, courtesy of our valued partners, both corporates and individuals, including Hela Clothing, Hayleys Travels, Jetwing Holidays, Akbar Brothers, Shangri-La, Classic Travels, Jetwing Hotel & Esna Holidays, Cinnamon Hotels and Aitken Spence to name a few.
In addition to supporting women entrepreneurs, Women Plus Bazaar also serves as a source of inspiration and motivation for other women to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams. By showcasing the products and success stories of women entrepreneurs from various backgrounds, the Bazaar encourages more women to take up entrepreneurship and contribute to the economy.
In conclusion, Women Plus Bazaar is an excellent initiative that promotes the economic empowerment of women and low-income entrepreneurs in Sri Lanka by providing a platform for them to showcase and sell their products.
