It doesn’t matter how many promises you make to yourself to get your Christmas shopping done by mid-December or for that matter, how early you start buying gifts – with just 10 days to go for Christmas, most still have far too many items yet to tick off their lists!
Get into the spirit of Christmas, browse through a range of well-stocked stalls, sample some great Christmas goodies and enjoy an evening with the family all in one go tomorrow (15) at ‘A Christmas Pop-Up’.
A fundraiser Christmas fair organised by ForumCSA – the Alumni of the City School of Architecture, the fair will feature an array of activities for kids and adults alike and will kick off at 3 p.m. at the CR&FC Grounds.
Entertainment
Christmas tree lighting, Christmas décor crafts, piñata and fondant cake décor making for kids, a visit from Santa complete with gifts and Christmas goodies, children’s choirs, carols, a live band and performances by the City School of Architecture
Goodies
There will be no shortage of scrumptious delights at the fair so get ready to gorge on savouries and sweets by The English Cake Company, homemade ginger beer and jam, fresh fruit juice, mocktails, delicious goodies at numerous bake sales, a variety of cakes, breudher, cupcakes, brownies and gingerbread houses, chocolate chip cookies by Cookiedella, ice cream, frozen yoghurt, BBQs and Christmas sweetmeats by Sensaal.
Stalls and vendors
The fair will feature a number of vendors displaying unique items and wares such as play items for kids by KIDDO Toys by KidzKrafts, handlooms by Selyn, home appliances by Singer, products by Light & Shade, spa and beauty products with live makeovers by Link Natural, linen by Gihantex, ceramics by Anuradha Ceramics, cultured pearl jewellery, flip-flops, designer lamps and lanterns by Glock Lamps, chairs by Originals, Wilton products, pillows, throw cushions and mattresses by Hants, kids’ clothing by Studio Stitch, kids’ party items, handbags, batik, clothes, paintings, and other festive décor and unique cards.
Charitable foundations
A number of charitable foundations will also have stalls at the fair, including Manacare Foundation which will be selling festive accessories, arts and crafts – Christmas with a Cause by Foundation of Goodness and SOS Children’s Village, the Sri Lanka Cancer Society and Surol – The Society for Upliftment and Rehabilitation of Leprosy Affected Persons.
Proceeds from ‘A Christmas Pop-Up’ will be distributed amongst the many charities and foundations supported by the fair, including SOS Children’s Village, Manacare Foundation, Surol, Cancer Society and Selyn, and other earnings will go to the City School of Architecture as a fundraiser for the school.
