A telegram, what a surprise!

In this age of SMSs and e mails, it was indeed a surprise to receive a telegram from Ampara a few days back. It was delivered home.Leave aside telegrams, even letters are now few and far apart. Hardly anyone writes a letter. It’s only monthly bank statements and junk mail that one gets these days by post. Long telephone chats – that too mostly on a mobile phone – and correspondence via email are the order of the day.
