Book on Justin Daraniyagala launched

The John Keells Foundation in association with the Justin Daraniyagala Book Committee launched the book “Justin Daraniyagala – Oil Paintings” at The Courtyard, Cinnamon Grand Colombo on Friday 24 June 2011. The event included not only the sale of the book, but also a rare opportunity to view some of the late artist’s paintings.

Addressing the distinguished gathering, the artist’s nephew Arjun Daraniyagala observed, “The launch of Justin Daraniyagala – Oil Paintings is a significant event in Sri Lanka’s art history. The simple reason is that most of Justin Daraniyagala’s paintings are not available for public viewing, thus this book opens the door to both the art connoisseur and student alike to the ground-breaking works of art of Justin Daraniyagala

The book is now available at Barefoot as well as selected outlets of Odel, Paradise Road, MD Gunasena, and Vijitha Yapa book stores at Rs. 16,000 a copy.
