By Cheranka Mendis
Leaving their IT related equipment the employees of Virtusa Sri Lanka picked up their cameras and went on a snapping spree capturing what was later called ‘Colours of the World.’The photographs which on Wednesday became an exhibition showing the creativity, the eye for detail and the various minds of the fellow Virtusans was a success and was held at Orion City, No. 752, Dr. Danister De Silva Mawatha, Colombo 9.
The photographs were captured under four themes: Nature, Places, People and Abstract and had some incredible painting like photographs capturing subtle moments of natural and material elements that we would otherwise perhaps overlook as common day to day phenomena.
An annual event the digital photography exhibition is titled ‘Silver Pixels’ and was this time themed as ‘Colours of the World.’ Under the theme, this year’s exhibition was said to have received over 250 entries in total.
Speaking about the exhibition and its importance since its inception, Prasanna Obadage, Director HR Virtusa Sri Lanka Advance Technology Centre said, “Virtusa as an organization seeks out the best talent to join our global team. Our efforts in this regard have helped us in acquiring and developing a very vibrant team that has diverse skills and talents. This exhibition was initiated in 2005 as a result of our desire to showcase one such talent- photography. We take a lot of pride in exhibiting the abundant talent and skills of Virtusans across our offices and Advanced Technology Centers across the world. We strongly believe that events such as these give all of our fellow Virtusans ideal opportunities to celebrate life and broadening horizons as one truly global team.”

It shows that the best of Sri Lankan minds are engaged here.”
