Sri Lanka’s heritage in hospitality – the Galle Face Hotel offers a bountiful Christmas rendezvous this festive season in a Victorian style, which is this year’s theme.

The Gingerbread Hut at the Pasticcino of the Regency wing – Galle Face Hotel has an amazing array of Christmas cakes, goodies, cookies and hampers. These include gingerbread house, Victorian Christmas cake, Yule log, Xmas snow cake, Xmas stolen, Xmas Breudher, mince pie, assorted Chocolates, assorted cookies and many more will be on the cards from 3 – 31 December at the Pasticcino.

Have a ball at the Kiddies Christmas party on 10 December at the Patio and South lawn of the Galle Face Hotel. It’s just not only for kids; mommies and daddies can join the fun too. It’s a whole lot of fun with kiddie’s bouncers, fun rides, merry go round, magic shows, pop corn; face painting, candy floss and Santa’s arrival. It will be held from 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm at the Galle Face Hotel.

Christmas Carols will be performed by Estelle Gunasekara at the Verandah Restaurant on 17December from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm.

When we celebrate Christmas with family and friends, we have the Victorians to thank for many of its joyful festivities and delightful customs. They revived old traditions, such as caroling, and invented new ones such as sending Christmas cards.
