After a four year wait the ICC World Cup is back again.  With the Sri Lankan Lions’ chances looking mighty, the interest is irrefutable.  Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo invites guests to catch the action live at the Library which will take on a sports pub atmosphere for the season.  For those with a taste for the outdoors, the giant screen on the Terrace promises to deliver the goods.

On certain evenings when energies are expected to soar, the hotel will organise an elaborate barbeque and action stations on the Terrace for the cricket crazy.  The food may be purchased through a coupon system so that even kids, armed with their own coupons are free to choose their meal without coming between an eager fan and the big screen.  The barbecue evenings will take place on the 26 and 27 of February, the 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 17, 18, 19, 20, 23, 24, 25, 26, 29, 30 March as well as on the 2 April for the most important cricket moment for years to come.

The action stations will serve up barbecued chicken drumsticks, chicken Bockwurst, Tandoori chicken drumsticks, marinated seer darne, beef rib eye steak and batter fried fish accompanied by French fries, potato salad or fried potato wedges with barbeque sauce or pepper sauce and garlic bread as well as a fresh fruit salad with ice cream.

The hotel partners with some internationally celebrated brands to reward guests.  Emirates, the Official Partner of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, collaborate with the hotel to reward twenty two lucky guests at the World Cup screening with tickets to watch the games in person.  Additionally, the airline will give away an airline ticket to Singapore to a Cinnamon Lakeside guest.

Carlsberg and Alpha Orient Lanka partner with the hotel to offer amazing deals on beverages and even a mini cricket pitch on the Terrace garden.  A Samsung flat screen television at Goodies will ensure that patrons at the hotel’s pastry shop also get in on the action.

At The Library a special snack menu will be on offer.  Guests can choose from portions of chicken in a basket, fish and chips, chicken or beef burghers, chicken kottu, devilled beef or chicken, pizza margarita or vegetable kottu accompanied by a mug of draught beer for Rs. 890/-++++.

The Library staff will offer more details if contacted on 2491925 or for more information on the outdoor screening of the matches, the hotel can be contacted on 2491998.
