One of the most loved and longest standing restaurants popular for their Chinese cuisine, Chinese Dragon Cafe (CDC) recently announced the opening of its fourth restaurant, The Dragon. Located on the junction of Canal Row Road and Hospital Street, The Dragon sits right next to the Dutch Hospital Precinct in Colombo 1 with ample parking space. The new location offers seating for approximately 120 guests on two floors. This particular location was chosen for its proximity to the central business district of Fort and its dynamic and diverse neighbourhood. Additionally, the location aims to provide delivery services to its valued customers residing in the Kotehena, Mattakuliya, Negombo Road and the suburbs of Peliyagoda, Wattala and Ja-ela. It is the ideal venue to enjoy the master chefs creating the signature dishes of hot butter cuttlefish, a platter of battered prawns and a classic sweet corn soup being prepared in an open kitchen concept. The Dragon does not serve pork or alcohol. “We are very excited to open our flagship restaurant, The Dragon is located in an area where the clientele desire delicious food and good service,” commented a Director of the Chinese Dragon Cafe Group. “We strive to offer the best quality food rich in flavour and portion size with competitive pricing. We take pride in our continuous effort in maintaining excellent service standards which is one of the distinct attributes of all our restaurants. We look forward to serving our guests at this new location.” With highly detailed contemporary decor, the open kitchen concept, piped music and muted lighting set the perfect ambience for a relaxed dining experience. Be it dinner with family or grabbing a bite with colleagues after work, The Dragon creates a fun and family-friendly dining environment for everyone to enjoy. The top floor of The Dragon has two elegantly decorated private rooms that can be used for business meetings and special events and which seat up to 30 people. The extensive menu at The Dragon is available for both in-house dining, take-away and delivery. The Dragon lunch and dinner packets in small and regular sizes are available for those who would like to order a quick, convenient and complete meal option. In addition to the regular meat and seafood items there are two new additions, a Hot Butter Cuttlefish Dragon pack and a Nasi-Goreng Dragon pack with a choice of five different sauces - hot garlic, pepper, devilled, chilli or golden sauce. Another great value option is the Combo Meal where the customer can enjoy a drink, dessert and a Dragon pack for approximately Rs. 500. Established in 1942, Chinese Dragon Café has pioneered Chinese cuisine in Sri Lanka, offering authentic Chinese food refined specifically to suit the local palate. The group has three restaurants located in Bambalapitiya, Mt. Lavinia and Rajagiriya, in addition to the recently opened restaurant in Fort. The current restaurants can seat up to 450 customers in a homely, family dining type atmosphere that promises wholesome food with good taste for a great value.
