Christmas comes early at Barista Lavazza

You know that a coffee shop has taken Christmas to heart when you see an outlet adorned with garlands of wreaths and Christmas trees lit up with thousands of sparkling lights to commemorate the joy and liveliness of the season.

The Yule Jam, the Christmas Edition of Barista-Lavazza’s introduced Open Mic sessions, was the kick start to the years’ festive season as the busiest time of the year approaches Colombo’s favorite Coffee Hangout. Even though the venue was a slight shift from the rustic ambient indoors of the Barista-LavazzaGandhara outlet, to the more spacious, outdoor setting of its Laksala store, it did not deter any of the events devotees from showing up alongside quite a large number of newer faces.

This time around although the event went on a little later than planned with the night being filled with exuberant performance by some of Colombo’s hottest rock troupe’s including Dhanushka and Mirshad from Paranoid Earthling and Buddhi and Milo from the infamous Wagonpark.  The lively energy flowed back and forth between performers such as Joseph Rodrigo and Vishwa Tennekone with his enthused poetry reading, keeping the audience enthralled throughout the evening.
