Artist Mihiri Devendra on Thursday presented her line of jewellery based on works of art displayed at the historic Sapumal Foundation. Devendra’s ‘Wearabale Art’ is made up of ceramic pieces and features fragments of images from paintings by members of the 43 Group of Artists who gained fame for their localised interpretations of European art movements.

Said Devendra, “People value idea and custom-crafted things… This is what we’re presenting with this collection. Sri Lanka has many cultured and educated art lovers who see art as precious and understand the rarity of the 43 Group’s work; this collection is for them.”

Pieces from Collection 43 can be viewed at the Sapumal Foundation and are available for sale.
