Colombo Night Races and Electric Peacock Festival in December

The inaugural Colombo Night Races and the second Electric Peacock Festival will take place this December, taking entertainment in Colombo to another level.

The organisers of both events promise the country a weekend like never before, packed with fast cars and stellar music acts. The two events will take place on 16 and 17 of December in the Galle Face Green and Fort areas of Colombo.

The big party weekend will kick off with this years’ Electric Peacock Festival, to be held in and around the grounds of the historic Galle Buck Lighthouse, Chaitiya Road in Colombo on Friday 16 December, which will also play host to the qualifying sessions for the races to determine drivers’ race starting Grid positions.

Following its success last year as Sri Lanka’s first international music festival, it will feature prominent and diverse acts from the UK and Sri Lanka, introducing our main headliner chart topping British electro act Chicane, and BBC Radio 1 DJ Nihal with more acts to be announced over the coming weeks. Tickets for the music festival will be priced at Rs. 2,000 for general admission and Rs. 4,000 for VIP.

Organised by the Grant Group, the musical extravaganza will continue on the Saturday night as the Electric Peacock team curate the entertainment at parties to follow the races into the early hours of Sunday morning. Bringing their edgy, innovative and creative take on entertainment, the Electric Peacock team is revved up to take on Colombo full force with their musical offering this December.

Electric Peacock Festival Co-Founder Leah Bazalgette said, “We are once again excited to bring Sri Lanka our unique festival concept and this year we are taking it a step up with live art installations, theatrical performers, and of course some of the foremost names in music.”
