As a name that’s been synonymous with succulent and tender ‘Fresh Upcountry Chicken’ over the past 40 years, Crysbro was once again the cynosure of all eyes at the 15th Culinary Arts Exhibition held recently at the BMICH. Not content with being a mere participant, Crysbro lived up to its reputation as a top innovator in the industry, by providing an opportunity for spectators to exhibit their talent in the culinary arts with a competition titled ‘Crysbro Cook and Win’. It was a tremendous success, judging by the large number of enthusiastic participants, as well as the keen interest shown by spectators. The winners were rewarded by Crysbro with many gift packs containing home appliances, while the final draw yielded a return air ticket to Chennai. The Crysbro stall also featured ‘live’ cooking, with demonstrations by renowned chef Rukshan, who shared his expertise on the finer points of creating a variety of mouth-watering dishes, using Crysbro chicken. The audience was naturally spell-bound. The Culinary Arts Exhibition, organised by the Chef’s Guild of Sri Lanka, has grown from strength to strength over the years, and today is considered the nation’s largest food trade exhibition. It is also widely regarded as a premier event with a reputation for culinary excellence that spans the entire Asia-Pacific region. This exhibition provides the cream of Sri Lankan chefs with the opportunity to showcase their talents and earn due recognition and rewards for their expertise. Crysbro had been closely involved with the Culinary Arts Exhibitions over the years, reflecting its close association with the HORECA (Hotel, Restaurant and Catering) sector in Sri Lanka. Attracting 2,200 participants represented by over 170 hotels across the region, this exhibition attracted over 30,000 spectators this year. While being involved with glamorous events such as the Culinary Arts Exhibition, it should be noted that that Crysbro has also been contributing towards the upliftment of the less-fortunate segments of society through its ‘Out-grower’ project, as well as numerous charitable engagements as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility program. Crysbro has also been involved in the promotion of sports in the rural hinterland, with its sponsorship of rugby among schools in the central highlands. Crysbro has also sponsored the ‘Upcountry Lions’, who are a force to be reckoned with in Sri Lanka’s A-Divison Rugby and have displayed a remarkable winning streak within a short span of their entering the fray.  Crysbro is committed to continue its role in contributing towards the development of Sri Lankan society in many spheres, in the years to come.
