Dighavapi

Dighavapi in the Ampara District is one of the 16 places in Sri Lanka hallowed by visits of the Buddha. It is mentioned as the sixth place in the stanza which most Buddhists recite daily: ‘Mahiyanganam Nagadipam Kalyanam Padalanchanam Divaguha Dighavapi Cetiyam Mutiyanganam…’
