‘Human Rights & Policing’ launch

The OPA auditorium was the venue of the launch of ‘Human Rights & Policing’ written by Tassie Seneviratne, retired Senior Superintendent of Police. The programme began with the author formally handing over the first copies to the Chief Guest, Constitutional lawyer Deshamanya R.K.W. Gunasekera and former IGP Ana Seneviratne.

After Deshamanya Gunasekera’s introductory remarks, Attorney-at-Law and Human Rights Activist J.C. Weliamuna delivered the keynote address. Former IGP Dr. Frank de Silva, Sunday Island Editor-in-Chief Manik de Silva and Major General Lalin Fernando spoke about the book
