‘Pooch Project’ at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo on 20 August

The Kiddies’ Camp crew is back with yet another theme event, The Kiddies’ Camp Pooch Project. Appropriately scheduled on August 20, the International Homeless Animals’ Day, the hotel will collaborate with the Pooch Foundation to share with children the joy of caring for a homeless animal.

Volunteers from the Pooch Foundation will conduct a ‘pooch discussion’ where they will teach the Campers how to look after puppies and dogs. 

The children will be encouraged to take the opportunity to have their pet-related questions answered.   The highlight of the afternoon will be the Great Puppy Giveaway, where five lucky Kiddies’ Camp volunteers will get to take home a puppy.  The puppies have been vaccinated and weaned, so parents can rest easy.  

Kids will be kept entertained with games like the ‘Bone Hunt’ and pooch craft sessions using coloured sand conducted by Panther Stationery.  In a world of video games and movies, it’s refreshing to see that children still love the outdoors.  They particularly enjoy riding the bicycles that are brought in by the Kiddies’ Camp partner, Tomahawk.  The bouncing castle too is always a big hit.  To top it all off Tomahawk presents a lucky child with a bicycle of their own to take home.

A buffet of children’s favourites comprising chocolate éclairs, chocolate cake, mini pizzas, pasta, mini burgers, ice cream, sandwiches, French fries and loads more to energise the kids for more play. Kiddies’ Camp is reasonably priced at Rs. 750 ++++ for children below 12 and at Rs. 950 ++++ for accompanying adults, so a family day out is no burden on the wallet. The Kiddies’ Camp Pooch Project will take place from 3.00pm to 6.00pm on August 20 at the Waterside. The location offers a vast open space for kids to have unrestricted fun and includes two air-conditioned indoor venues as well. Reservations will be undertaken on 2491998.

The Pooch Foundation is a non profitable organization whose sole purpose is to rescue stray dogs, provide necessary medical attention, restore them to health, neuter and spay them and place them in loving adoptive homes. Its ultimate goal is the complete relocation of innocent stray dogs from the roads to kind dog loving homes and to control and prevent of the spread of diseases.
