Enjoy a surprise luxury ride today with Uber

 Today, Uber has partnered with some top-secret partners to bring its riders a surprise, luxury ride. Promising to be a one-of-a-kind, luxury experience, UberSURPRISE promises some very special goodies for lucky riders. 

An on-demand activity that will be run on Saturday, UberSURPRISE rides will have a special fare attached to it. Here is how they will be calculated: Base Fare: Rs.200 + Distance: Rs.100 per km + Time charge: Rs. 4 per minute

Uber in Colombo has already carried out a few on-demands for its riders, the first one being UberCHOPPER that was held in January this year. Uber also carried out a charity on-demand in conjunction with the Red Cross on Independence Day.

How does Uber SURPRISE work?

Today, Saturday, 13 February, between 6 and 10 p.m., you simply need to fire up your Uber app, and slide across to the UberSURPRISE option. Make sure you’ve set your location accurately, and request. Demand will be high, so your request might not go through the first time. You’ll have to keep trying. When your request goes through, the Uber office will give you a call to confirm your location, and then, your special UberSURPRISE ride will be on its way, complete with your special goodies.

The finer details

All riders booking #UberSURPRISE and their loved ones must strictly be over 21 years of age

Each #UberSURPRISE ride can only accommodate two persons

There will be a limited number of rides

#UberSURPRISE cannot be booked for airport pick-ups and drop-offs

Pick-up and drop-off locations will be limited to Colombo 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 only

#UberSURPRISE will only be a point-to-point service. Due to high demand, it will not be able to accommodate any waiting time.
