Any parent will agree that children need constant stimulation. Catering to the needs of its youngest customers, Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo has introduced a Kiddies’ Camp that has rapidly gained popularity. In order to keep things fresh and interesting, the event will take on a new theme every month. This month’s theme, ‘A Day at the Fair,’ brings with it pony rides which is a Kiddies’ Camp first.

"Our idea is to engage children and promote ways in which they can spend their time constructively," explains Neroy Marso, General Manager of the hotel. "We find children spend less and less time outdoors and many hours a day engrossed in solitary entertainment with video games and on the PC. In order to curb the trend we have conscientiously introduced Kiddies Camp to give parents a wholesome choice in entertainment for their children"

This month’s Kiddies’ Camp kicks off at 11:00am on Sunday the 20 February and continues until 2.00pm at the Waterside. Children below twelve are welcome. The Waterside is the ideal location for a children’s event with ample space for them to expel their pent up energy, and the added benefit of a serene lake front.

The format for the February installment of the programme will see a change, with scattered food stalls replacing the buffet and games in stalls in contrast to those that require the participation of the entire group.

Food stalls will include a mini barbeque, hot dog, pop corn and candy floss stalls. Giving the afternoon a Sri Lankan twist, the hotel has made arrangements for ‘achcharu’, ‘veralu’ and ‘kadala’ vendors. Game stalls will consist of one with a tin can pyramid as a target, a dart booth, a ring toss and a pot luck spin wheel, with plenty of gifts to be won. For their entertainment, the children will be treated to a magic show and the antics of the hotel’s own juggler.

The entire package is offered to the young ones at an affordable Rs. 750/- ++++ per child, and Rs. 950/-++++ for adults who wish to accompany them. Further details may be obtained by contacting the hotel on 2491016.
