As Sri Lanka experiences a surge in internet usage with brands thriving to be at their best in this digital phenomenon, the retail fashion chain Fashion Bug has been recognised for its Official Website www.fashionbug.lk with a Silver award in the recent BestWeb.lk 2013.
The ‘Best Sri Lankan Website Competition’ which is conducted annually by the LK Domain Registry has been gaining popularity in recent times since its inception in 2009, capturing a higher degree of enthusiasm from participants across various industry sectors island-wide.
Commenting on this achievement, Fashion Bug Director Shabier Subian stated, “We are delighted to have received a Silver accolade in this year’s BestWeb.lk having recognised the need to rethink and reimagine our website to better serve our shoppers and best present Fashion Bug to the world.”
“With the redevelopment of our website as part of a new digital strategy that is based on social media and virtual marketing, we continue to strive to do our best to keep in line with the current trends and preferences of the shopper, focusing on excellence, innovation and creativity,” he added.

The awards are based and awarded in three phases; the strategic criteria namely technical, design, content and interaction analysed by an expert panel of Judges which carries 70% of total score, combined with the number of votes from users and web traffic, weighing 20% and 10% respectively.
Adding to its digital drive and interactivity, the fashion retailer recently launched the first of its kind official mobile application ‘Fashion Bug mobile App’ allowing iPhone and Android users to browse through latest collections, exclusive promotions and offers, experience latest trends, news and videos, and an inspired look book. The App also integrates social networking and a mobile GPS to find a nearest store. With Facebook being the number one social networking site in Sri Lanka, Fashion Bug engages with over 115,000 fans presently.
