Geshany is one of those blessed artists who had a nurturing from a younger age to draw and paint. She recalls how she used to run around the house and draw on the walls.
Having studied art both in Sri Lanka and Germany, Geshany read for a Degree in Communications Design. With her debut solo exhibition in 2014 she has dedicated to become a full time artist.
“I always was drawing or painting something or the other, but not until I reached the end of my secondary education did I get the guidance from an inspiring art teacher.”
He taught her that art needs to be an expression of the artist’s emotions, create a mood or have a back story to it. Since then Geshany says that her paintings have become more meaningful.
Geshany’s exhibition is on at RV8Y STVDIO GVLL3RY, 61/5, Ward Place Colombo 7 until 18 June. The gallery operates from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday.
