Glitz, glamour and bling! Billed to be a dinner dance of unrivalled revelry, Bishop’s College Past Pupils will gear up for a night of ‘Carnaval’ on Saturday 27 September.
To be held at the grand ballroom of the Waters Edge in grand style, the event will feature a troupe of flamboyant dancers and drummers, while past pupils glam up with masks jazzed up with feathers and pearls.
Dancing the night away to the irresistible vibes of Misty and Doctor, an unprecedented number of airline tickets, gift vouchers, weekend get-a-ways and more, await lucky guests. Waited on with cocktails and a lavish spread for dinner, the fun is expected to continue into the wee hours of the morning, with breakfast served at dawn.
The raffle draw was held last week at the BC Auditorium and the lucky winners are Chemali Herath, Christobel Don Carolis, A.J Dissanayake, Shashika Premawardhana, Sirima Jayasekera and Dimithri Bandara.
The dynamic dance committee ably chaired by Rajitha Jayasuriya and Delani Mitchell as co chair, includes a team of enthusiastic past pupils: Sonali Dias – President PPA, Rajitha Jayasuriya – Chairperson, Delani Mitchell – Co-chairperson, Minoli senanayake and Saumya fernando – Jt. Secretaries, Shianthi Jayasinghe – Treasurer, Shyama Perera and Ramola Sivasunderam – Advisor, Committee: Nishruk Perera, Shermila Anthony Perera, Shanika Wimalabandu, Shehani de Soyza, Kasuni silva, Anushka Abeysekere, Minal Ranatunga, Prashanthi Mallawaratchi, Onali Dassanaike, Shari Coorey, Anusha Alles, Onitha Gurugalla and Tiasha Renganathan.
While tickets for the event sold out within the month after its announcement, this much anticipated edition of the famed Bishop’s College dinner/dances will certainly be a Carnaval that rocks!
