A t-shirt that changes its print colour when exposed to sunlight
Glitz, a leading fashion retail brand in Sri Lanka which operates five outlets across Sri Lanka, recently announced the launch of its latest T-shirt label, branded ‘Chathak Miracles’. The new range was officially launched at Glitz Hyde Park Corner by Indian-Sri Lankan actress Pooja Umashankar and award winning Sri Lankan actor, singer and model Roshan Ranawana.
In his address at the launch Chathak Managing Director Shadheeshan Shanm-ugavel said, “Chathak Miracles is the latest in a series of labels introduced by Chathak and is a new innovation in retail clothing whereby the T-shirt changes colour when exposed to sunlight. These UV coated solar powered T-shirts absorb the ultraviolet rays of the sun which then cause the T-shirts to change colour. The Chathak Miracles label comprises a large variety of T-shirts to suit today’s trendy youth and is the first time in Sri Lanka that UV coated T-shirts have been introduced to the local clothing industry.” Speaking at the launch of the T-shirts, Glitz Operations Man-ager A.M.M. Shafeek said, “As a young and dynamic brand it is vital that we keep abreast of the latest innovations in the world of fashion and provide our customers with an opportunity to avail themselves of these fashion statements. Trendy innovations such as this are the future of retail fashion and we are proud to have pioneered this concept in Sri Lanka.”
Speak with
your tees
Keeping to its tagline ‘Speak with your tees’ Chathak’s mission is to offer a global branded product that makes people unique from others. No matter what mood you are in, Chathak helps you to reflect your mood with the right T-shirt and to convey the same in a hip and trendy way.
Other labels introduced by Chathak include Psycho Slogans – a range of tees with basic attitude slogans, Twin Hearts – a T-shirt range for couples, Lankan Style – which expresses commonly used Sri Lankan words and Loving Arms – which express motivational and charity based phrases and slogans.
Introduced as a corporate social responsibility initiative, Glitz together with Chathak donates a percentage of all Chathak T-shirts sales to orphanages and less privileged children across the island on a monthly basis.
