In the two weeks it’s been open, the response to the Harpo’s Pizza & Pasta outlet in Mt. Lavinia has been huge – for both delivery and dine-in – exceeding expectations abundantly!

This is no surprise really, given that it features the same extensive menu of delicious pizzas and pastas as the outlet in the Nugegoda and also takes a step further with a range of utterly delightful desserts.Untitled-2

Conveniently located and easily accessible on Galle Road at the centre of Mt. Lavinia, the outlet offers dine in, take-away and delivery service for all to enjoy the range of wood-fired, thin-crust pizzas, fresh homemade pastas and desserts.

While the Mount outlet is large, bright and welcoming, the free delivery option is ideal for those who would rather enjoy a piping hot pizza or perfect pasta in the comfort of their homes. The delivery service zone covers Dehiwala, Mt. Lavinia, Ratmalana, Moratuwa, Boralesgamuwa and Attiditya.

For MD Harpo Gooneratne, opening up the second outlet in Mount made good sense – many of the diners who patronise his other restaurants live in the area and the location itself is perfect for pizza and pasta, in line with the laidback vibe of the beach town.

“It gives me great pleasure to launch our second pizza parlour within a short span of less than two years and in Mt. Lavinia, given the residential neighbourhood, the schools and facilities nearby, making it an ideal location to offer our range of fresh homemade brand of pizzas and fresh pasta,” said MD Harpo Gooneratne.

The team here is headed by Sunil Thanthirige, who brings extensive experience in the hotel, restaurant and catering field, including work experience in Ravenna, Italy, specialising in pizza and Italian cuisine, along with Shehaan Thahir – Brand Manager for Harpo’s Pizza & Pasta, who coordinated the project in setting up the parlour in Mt. Lavinia.

“We specialise in desserts and plans are in the pipeline to add on a gelato parlour as well,” said Thahir, outlining future plans.

He revealed that plans are also being drawn up to serve dine-in specials of certain dishes from the exquisite Bayleaf restaurant, which only adds to the great offering here.

With the Mount opening kicking off expansion plans this year, diners can look forward to more outlets around the island in the months ahead.

The restaurant, which can accommodate 52 diners, boasts its own brick wood-fired oven, serving up home-grown products with the pizza and pasta range using fresh and healthy ingredients.

There are 30 delicious flavours in four sizes which includes Colombo’s largest 19” pizza with 16 sumptuous slices and the only square 22” pizza serving 36 slices, ideal for entertaining and to share with friends.

The fresh pastas include ravioli and tagliatelle, and of course the dessert range includes dessert pizzas. It also offers fresh homemade beverages.
