Indu Charmasena’s ‘Here For A Fit-On!’ is on at the Lionel Wendt Theatre on 28, 29 and 30 November from 7:30 p.m.
Dr. Premjith Suwadena is a famous doctor especially among the fairer sex, and he has planned to meet up with his new girlfriend, Sumi, at his good friend Maithree’s place. Maithree, a famous dress designer has very graciously offered his place while he is away for this romantic tryst. Expecting to have the place all to himself, the good doctor comes in to find Bandu (Maithree’s assistant) there, down with the flu.
First problem: Bandu. Second problem: The doctor and Sumi are married, but not to each other and it is vital that no one knows about their clandestine meetings. But before the two lovers can spend time together, enters the third problem: Anjana, the good doctor’s previous girlfriend who he really hasn’t dumped!
And then come more problems: A nosey neighbor, clients who have come for a fit-on and a mysterious white van. As the doctor tries to handle the situation, so begin the web of lies…
This hilarious comedy has all the laughs that you expect from an Indu Dharmasena play.
The cast comprises of Indu Dharmasena, Anoop Kapukotuwa, Nihili Senarath, Sanwada Dharmasena, Chithranga Kariyawasan, Abbasali Rozais, Senalli Ranathunga, Neshika De Silva, Yasal Ruhunage and Keshan Leitch.
The show on 28 November was presented by the St. Anthony’s Girls College Kandy OGA, and the show on the 29th is presented by the Rotary Club of Colombo Central, in aid of their ongoing projects.
