If you have missed the chance of watching the sell out exclusive De Lanerolle Brothers Christmas show for 1,000 guests on 2 December, you are in luck as the duo will be the main act on 14 December at 7:30 p.m. at ‘Joy To The World 2013,’ after which they leave that very night for Singapore.
The concert is a special musical extravaganza organized by the Archdiocese of Colombo and the Blessed Joseph Vaz Trust, which is to be held at the Nelum Pokuna, Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre. The show will feature some amazing local and international artistes as well.
Voice Print, currently the most sought-after male a-capella group in Sri Lanka, will be one such act along with two combined choirs of school children. The Seniors, Pueri Cantores (Singing Children) and the Junior Bambini are trained and directed by the well-known choral trainer Francis De Almeida.
There will be a guest act by Helen Massey, soprano, who was recently presented by the De Lanerolle Brothers at their own classical/Broadway concert. Helen was invited along with pianist Caroline Jaya-Ratnam by the organisers as both together in September set Colombo ablaze with Ishan and Rohan. The De Lanerolle Brothers together with the other artistes will sing all popular carols, to which the audience could sing along. The finale will witness all artistes joining together for some powerful well-known Christmas carols.
Most certainly ‘Joy to the World’ with the participation of His Eminence, Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, Archbishop of Colombo and Chairman of Blessed Joseph Vaz Trust will be a show not to be missed.
