Kandy welcomes Ramani Fernando – Sunsilk Hair and Beauty Academy

Kandy welcomed the Ramani Fernando – Sunsilk Hair and Beauty Academy with open arms when it opened its doors in the city, a few days ago. Governor Tikiri Kobbekaduwa was invited to cut the ribbon in the presence of a large number of distinguished VIP guests.

Kandy has always been serving the town around it with facilities and opportunities in all types of activities and a brand of the caliber of Ramani Fernando – Sunsilk Hair and Beauty Academy will give the people in the Central Province a wonderful opportunity to further their dream in the hair and beauty Industry. “There were a considerable number of students interested in these fields that did not have a way of following our courses in Colombo and this will be very convenient for them” said Ramani Fernando Training (Pvt) Ltd Managing Director Lucky Lenagala.

The Sunsilk – Ramani Fernando partnership in hair and beauty has gone from strength to strength and has become a tremendous boost to take hair and beauty training to more and more talented people, in keeping with international standards. “The Kandy branch will now give us more opportunity to spread our efforts,” stated Unilever Brand Activation Manager Nilantha Suwaris. Talented hairdressers, part of PHABA will be offered scholarships in the first diploma course in Kandy to further enhance their knowledge and skills under the Unilever Social Responsibility Programme.

The residents of the Central Province are very discerning and are now looking for much higher standards in hair and beauty. The need for good grooming and enhancing appearances is becoming more and more important to society and people are getting very mindful of it. Consequently well-trained hairdressers and beauticians are required in bigger numbers, was the view of Lucky Lenagala. “Running an institution such as this is a challenge but the goodwill and support we have had so far from all the people in Kandy have been encouraging,” she added.

Neelanga Nandisena who was to a great extent instrumental in persuading Ramani Fernando to embark in the Kandy venture was an extremely happy man and was delighted that the Kandy branch became a reality. He said, “This brand would open avenues for various aspects of training connected with personal development and that is a great thing.”
