Keells Super Crescat: “Unveiling a whole new level of shopping”

Keells Super has announced that refurbishment of its outlet at Crescat Boulevard has been completed and is inviting the public to experience the difference.
Featuring wider aisles, relocated sections for customer convenience, new items on offer and several new innovations, the refurbished Keells Super Crescat outlet seeks to establish a new benchmark on which supermarket retailing in Sri Lanka will be based.
Speaking about the refurbishment, John Keells Holdings PLC President Retail Krishan Balendra said: “Sri Lankan customers are becoming more demanding in terms of their expectations and rightly so, given that supermarkets worldwide are constantly innovating and upgrading their offering to ensure the highest possible levels of customer satisfaction. Being one of the leading supermarkets in Sri Lanka we have a responsibility to constantly offer our valued customers the best supermarket experience possible and this is one way in which we hope to deliver on this pledge.”
In his address JayKay Marketing Services CEO and Vice President of the John Keells Group Charitha Subasinghe stated that he was very pleased to see the refurbishment being completed with greater focus on customer convenience and has no doubt the new layout will be appreciated by customers. “We value customer feedback greatly at Keells Super and take every single customer comment seriously, which is why we felt it was time to refurbish Keells Super Crescat with customer convenience in mind.”
Shoppers at Keells Super Crescat will now be greeted to the scent of freshly baked bread and treats as the bakery has been relocated near the entrance and will also feature a seating area for customers. All of Keells Super’s signature breads such as cheese and onion bread and pizza bread will be on offer along with a host of health breads such as Dr. Vogel bread, multigrain rye bread, multi-malt bread and whole wheat bread to name a few.

Another new addition is the ‘Food of the World’ area which features quick preparation signature dishes from around the world ranging from Japanese noodles to sushi ingredients while the Indian shelf offers a variety of breakfast mixes, authentic spice mixes and several ready to eat dishes. The area will also feature popular food from Europe and East Asian countries in the near future.
The fresh vegetables and fruits section has been revamped and is more spaciously laid out, with large displays of local and exotic vegetables and fruits.
The cheese counter includes rare delicacies such as cambozola from France, Mexicana cheddar, blue stilton from England and emmental cheese from Switzerland. Old favourites such as Holland Edam, block cheese, classic appenzallerd and coon tasty cheddar are also available. Also exclusively available at Keells Super are emborg smoked cheese, havarti and parmigiano reggiano from Denmark to name a few.
Nearing the checkout counters, a large area has been dedicated to beauty and wellness featuring both local and international brands of personal care products. The pharmacy has also been shifted to this area for the convenience of customers. A spacious new wines and spirits area has also been set up featuring both local and international spirits.
For all valued customers Keells Super Crescat will be offering a 10% discount on bills over Rs. 3000 from 2 to 4 August while a special cheese sampling has been arranged from 5-6 p.m. on 2 and 3 August.
Keells Super was also the first retail chain to obtain a Certificate of Conformity from the Sri Lanka Standards (SLS) Institute for the ‘Supermarket Management System’.
