M.D. Gunasena opens revolutionary bookstore in Galle

M.D. Gunasena the leading publisher, printer and bookseller, declared open its 17th bookstore in Galle under the patronage of Mayor of Galle Municipal Council Methsiri De Silva, M.D. Gunasena Chairman Percy Gunasena, Managing Director Ananda Gunasena and Deputy Managing Director Rajiv Gunasena.
The two level, state-of-the-art book store spreads across 2,500 square feet embracing a chic ambience through an architectural design.
The new bookstore located in 02, Matara Road, Galle caters to the local book lovers as a total one-stop shop displaying from a range of books, stationery to toys. The launch of the new revamped M.D. Gunasena website www.mdgunasena.com was also one of the key highlights of the day.
Rajiv Gunasena reiterated, “With over a century of experience in providing knowledge, and being well renowned as the company who taught the nation to read we are now inviting all book lovers to be a part of the next chapter. Our company remains at the forefront of the publishing industry and we adopt change much swiftly to make a difference and innovate as much as possible reviving and imparting wisdom, and the opening of the Galle bookstore further exemplifies this value.”
M.D. Gunasena since its incorporation in 1913 has become the most prestigious publisher in Sri Lanka with 17 outlets island-wide. After almost a century, the company remains at the forefront of the publishing industry and literature existing in the country.
