With his business venture ‘Anuradha Ceramics’ and ‘The Pottery Shop’, Ajith has taken his love the art into a totally different level. Evolving the pieces of art into the form of functional ceramic for everyday’s use has broadened his appreciators beyond art.
This month marks the return of Ajith in his creative space unveiling the latest collection of functional ceramic inspired from his studio creations. He invites you to engage in understanding how artist’s impressions come to life and transform into everyday ceramic ware in a unique, sublime and in a breathtaking manner. In his own words it is to witness the evolution of expression into a ceramic ware “Each expression you are about to experience, will take you on a walk with me, from the moment it was born in my mind, in to the paper, and then to a piece of clay.”
Anuradha ceramics, his business venture extend the invitation you to indulge yourself in artistry of studio pottery, mesmerised by it while you connect your needs as an hotelier, architect, business partner, corporate, lover of art or as an inquisitive onlooker; to the masterpieces on display. The exhibition titled ‘INTUITION 2013’ took place on 28, 29 and 30 June, from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Park Street Mews, Colombo 2.
As per Ajith, these creations are not just ceramics but are living things, as he passionately express “I believe that everything that exists in this world is alive and full of life. Nothing remains lifeless if it is in existence. Through ‘Intuition,’ I present you the piece of clay which is full of life, soul and motion. The piece of clay which breathes, which moves and which reacts and responds to what is happening in the outer world. It is the personified piece of clay.”
