Methodist College choir bags gold in Vietnam

The 33 member Methodist College choir participated in the 1st Vietnam International Choir Festival and Competition organized by Interkultur Germany which concluded on 19 March and was held in the picturesque city of Hoi-An, Vietnam.

 They brought honour to Sri Lanka by winning the Gold Diploma in the ‘Youth Choirs of Equal Voices’ category.



They also participated in the ‘Sacred Music’ category ( which was an open category) being awarded a Silver Diploma, narrowly missing out on the Golden Diploma by a margin of 0.5 marks.

They were invited to participate and showcase their talent at the grand closing ceremony with two other choirs, which was televised. The Methodist College Choir was conducted by Sanjeev Jayaratnam, Leader of the world renowned ‘Revelations’, who has been training them since January 2010.
