Standing outside No. 50, Ward Place with my nose literally pressed against the glass window, my friend and I admired the incredibly detailed dollhouses on display and accessories inside them – from the small bed with a pair of tiny sandals carelessly tossed asi-de next to it, to a cosy kitchen scene with a cat curled up on a carefully carved chair and even a bathroom equipped with a loo complete with a quaint bronze flush pull. We even spotted a miniature version of the book Twilight! As we stood out there in the sun, drinking it all in, the first ‘miniaturist’ I’ve met – Trudi Malalgoda Amadoru, the proprietor of Mini Mago-Inc. – joined us and we headed indoors for a quick chat.
