Mobitel to host eventful day for orphanage on Children’s Day

Mobitel in a special CSR initiative is hosting an eventful day complete with entertainment, food and gifts for 350 children in an orphanage in Kilinochchi in view of World Children’s Day.
The Mobitel team will lend a helping hand today, 4 October, to support the children of the Mahadeva Achchirama Children’s Home who will receive an opportunity to watch the 3D cinema screening of the animated movie ‘Frozen’ at the Cargills complex in Jaffna followed by lunch and refreshments.
The children thereafter would be taken to the children’s park where they would get the chance to experience the fun and festivities of a carnival with adrenaline-pumping rides such as the bouncy castles, the merry-go-round and other fun rides.
Furthermore, a number of competitions will also be carried out and the children will have the opportunity to take pictures at a photo booth set up especially for them to treasure the memorable occasion.
“It is an absolute privilege for team Mobitel to be a part of this special initiative as it gives us the opportunity to care for society. It is an opportune time to extend a helping hand to the children of Mahadeva Achchirama Children’s Home in particular, as they are at a stage in their lives when they require the support and care that every child deserves to have. World Children’s Day which falls on October 1 was established to encourage and promote the welfare of children, and I believe as a corporate citizen we have a responsibility to make a contribution towards the children of our country who will inevitably be our future,” Mobitel Chief Executive Officer Ranjith G. Rubasinghe stated.
