In order to boost, formalise and make the Sri Lankan modelling industry a profession, Colombo Fashion Week (CFW) launches Supermodel Sri Lanka scheduled for 30 November 2013 at the picturesque, iconic heritage hotel by the ocean, Mount Lavinia Hotel.

Mount Lavinia Hotel that has been built on love and romance for the past 207 years retaining the old world charm and imperial elegance of yesteryear and it continues today in the same impressive style in the most elegant surroundings, making it the ideal venue for an event with such great status. As Mount Lavinia Hotel Group Manager Corporate Communications Mahika Chandrasena stated: “Being partners with the prestigious Colombo Fashion Week and at the same time giving the youth of Sri Lanka an opportunity to be mentored, groomed and trained as models that would walk the catwalk not only in Sri Lanka but overseas too, is what made us gladly be hosts for the event.” Supermodel Sri Lanka is an annual project, which will identify and train models who will then walk the catwalk at the prestigious Colombo Fashion Week, one international assignment and a campaign each by the high profile partner brands is part of their title. This will give five deserving male and female models a good start to a career in modeling.
