Paradise Beach hosts ‘Sounds of Maldives 2012’

Boasting a spectacular view of the ocean and an absolutely incredible atmosphere, the Mount Lavinia Hotel’s Paradise Beach will host the signature music event of the Maldives named ‘Sounds of Maldives 2012’ on 8 June.

‘Sounds of Maldives’ is a friendly, traditional music label set in the heart of Maldivian traditional music, yet inclusive of modern trends. Over the last three years, Maldivian music has established a unique environment that has drawn musicians and singers from all across the country and even tourists have been attracted by the talent and the style of the performing artists.

The first of its kind in the Maldives, ‘Sounds of Maldives’ is a unique record label that combines the traditional melodies of Maldives and the modern arts. Aimed to promote the Maldives, the event will bring together famous artists, namely Unoosha, Harubee, E.Sa, Shamoon, Umar, Mira, The 5 and D.J from Maldives. This unique event is held for the very first time in Sri Lanka and is supported by Mount Lavinia Hotel, the official host.

The events desk for ‘Sounds of Maldives’ opened on 31 May and will remain open until 8 June from 10a.m. to 7p.m. every day.  

The event will commence at 9p.m. on 8 June. Tickets are priced at Rs. 1,500 exclusive of food and beverages.
