Pegasus Reef Hotel unveils plans for festive season

Pegasus Reef Hotel Wattala announced elaborate plans the forthcoming festive season. This coincided with its annual “Mixing of the Christmas Cake Ceremony”. Veteran hotelier and Director of the Pegasus Reef Hotel Paddy Withana said: “Christmas in this part of Sri Lanka is very grand, very infectious and very festive. We’ve thus spared no pains to make this year’s festive season the hotel’s best ever.”
The festive aura will be all pervasive at Pegasus Reef hotel as December dawns and gets into full swing on Friday 20 December. Among the activities planned are ‘Romance under the Stars’, ‘Cognac and Cigars’, a children’s art competition and beauty pageant, calypso music, sand castle competition, treasure hunts, face painting, dining on the sand, Christmas movies under the stars, the arrival of Santa Claus, etc.
On Christmas Eve the Lounge Bar hosts Santa’s Cocktail Party with carols followed by a Christmas Eve dinner buffet in the main restaurant. The main feature on 25 December will be the Christmas lunch buffet in the main restaurant with beach dining at night at the Chef’s table on the sands.
Boxing Day offers morning yoga and a volleyball tournament culminating in an alfresco dinner in the garden; the ‘Wine Maker’s Dinner’. Pegasus Reef Hotel will also say goodbye to 2013 with a farewell cocktail in the Lounge Bar followed by a New Year’s Eve dinner buffet with fireworks at midnight.
A few hours later on 1 January 2014, the hotel formally commences operations for the New Year with the traditional lighting of the oil lamp followed by a celebratory champagne breakfast.
Pegasus Reef Hotel recently unveiled its newly refurbished ballroom thereby further enhancing its product offering to its ever increasing clientele as part of a Rs. 60 million refurbishment project.
