If you think that you have heard the last of Harry Potter and his adventures- think again. It’s imaginative and now very rich author J.K Rowling has created a website where new adventures can be penned by none other than Potter’s greatest fans.

Pottermore is a unique online reading experience created by J.K. Rowling and built around the Harry Potter books. Share and participate in the stories, showcase your own Potter-related creativity, and discover additional information about the world of Harry Potter from the author herself.

Pottermore will be available in Beta to a selected group of users in English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish (Castilian). However, everyone will be able to register to find out if they are magical, for entry to the site in October 2011. At launch, the site allows visitors to experience and explore the first Harry Potter story, with subsequent stories unveiled over time.

Also, in October, the Pottermore Shop will open, where readers can exclusively purchase and download the digital audio books and, for the first time, the eBooks, with the complete series available in a range of popular language editions - and more languages to be added later.

In a fun and interactive launch those that wish to register early on Pottermore have to prove their “worthiness” by discovering the “Magic Quill.” The Magical Quill is located in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It detects the birth of a magical child and writes his or her name down in a large book. Every year, Professor McGonagall checks the book and sends owls to the children who are turning eleven, to inform them that they have a place at Hogwarts. The lucky few who locate The Magical Quill during The Magical Quill challenge (which will run from 31 July to 6 August 2011) will have the chance to register for Pottermore early and gain access to the site before it opens to all in October 2011.

Each day for seven days, from 31 July to 6 August, the website will be placing a clue on the Pottermore homepage to help you find The Magical Quill. There will be a new clue every day, and each clue will relate to a different book in the Harry Potter series. On Day 1 the clue will relate to Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, on Day 2 the clue will relate to Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and so forth. The clues will also vary in difficulty. On Days 1-3 the clues will be harder, and on Days 4-7 the clues will be easier.

“To find The Magical Quill, you need to solve the clue and add the answer to the end of the web address http://quill.pottermore.com. This will lead you to a website where The Magical Quill will be located while early access places are available. Pottermore will be open to all from the beginning of October 2011 - so you won’t have long to wait before you can enter.

We will inform you on Pottermore when you will be able to register for entry in October, when Pottermore is open to all, so keep checking our home page,” the website says.

When all the early entry places have been filled, The Magical Quill links will be withdrawn. Users will be able to register via the Pottermore homepage, after The Magical Quill promotion has closed, but you will only be able to enter Pottermore when it opens to all in October. Keep checking Pottermore to find out when registration is open to all. So catch it on www.pottermore.com
