Rama’s Tea House: Combining tradition and innovation

Rama’s Tea House and Lounge coupled with a tea boutique, located at 935, Ethulkotte Road, Kotte, is conveniently situated near Colombo, just bordering Rajagiriya. The dynamism behind the whole novel concept was inspired by the owner’s experience of London tea pubs, and is focused on creating an ambience that is conducive to making it a place to be in.

Rama’s is housed in a 2,500 square foot space designed to bring together people of all age groups, offering them a range of handpicked tea mocktails, local small production flavoured teas, green teas and bar food.

Rama’s tea, which originates from the rich soils of Kalawana, comes with unique natural flavours. Each variety of tea contains its distinctive quality. Rama’s tea has created a distinguished name for its products in the low-grown market for the last eight years.  

While exporting to the world market, Rama’s has initiated its sales to the local clientele with an inventive approach towards the local neighborhood that lacks an opportunity of enjoying a ‘Good cup of Tea.’ The tea mocktails at Rama’s are created with an upmost respect for the art of appreciating fine teas.

These beverages are crafted using locally grown organic teas, fruits and herbs, homemade syrups and bitters, and the finest ingredients. Their talented bar staff present the tea mocktails with a focus on service.

Some of the specialties of Rama’s are the tea mixed fruit punch, green tea coco-punch, green butterscotch tea beer, tea champagne, tea shakes and snacks comprising of fish and chips, chicken and chips, pastas, hot potato salad, sandwiches, pita bread and fish fingers, as well as desserts and juices.

Yet another novel offering by Rama’s will be the serving of a buffet breakfast for the health conscious which would include an innovative preparation of health food with green tea, local grams, yams, country rice and other traditional recipes. It will be served from 7 a.m. onwards and aims to target the joggers who frequent the Kotte strip, adjoining the Diyawanna Oya.

Rama’s Tea House and Lounge, a combination of tradition and innovation offers a comfortable lounging area equipped deep wide leather lounges, wide-screen TVs, a pool table, together with Wi-Fi facilities, offers customers a totally relaxing atmosphere. An attractive British-style polished wood bar provides a bar-stool experience. Framed pictures of the British bygone era adorn the walls all go to create an intimate and cosy environment.
